Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) in partnership with Adobe have announced new and powerful solution for demanding 4K and 8K video workflows, which enables smooth editing of video formats. This helps to speed up the process of production while allowing editors full control of their projects using high-resolution and uncompressed footage.
The new of Adobe Premiere Pro CC, which will be launched at the 2018 NAB Show comes with native support for AMD Radeon Pro SSG graphics, a solution which is designed for video production and combines the extraordinary capabilities and performance of AMD “Vega” GPU architecture with 2TB of NVMe storage, all integrated onto the graphics card.
Together, both Radeon Pro SSG and Adobe Premiere Pro CC offer the most compelling solution for production of high-resolution videos, supporting 4K and 8K footage in most native camera formats like Sony RAW, XAVC and XDCAM, Panasonic AVC and P2, REDCODE RAW, Canon RAW and XF and ARRI AMIRA. Directly working with these source formats requires extraordinary computational capabilities, memory capacity and high performance so as to decode them in real-time. The Radeon Pro SSG and Adobe Premiere Pro CC workflow helps to reduce the memory and CPU bottlenecks, which is traditionally witnessed hence allowing editors to carry out their work with uncompressed visual fidelity.
Radeon Technologies Group, AMD general manager in charge of professional graphics Ogi Brkic said the promise of shooting 4K and 8K has always entailed removing creative constraints and looking for more creative controls that produce footage with high resolutions. However, these creative ambitions in many cases haves bee
An abandoned due to technology limitations, which have made 4K and 8K editing practically not possible. He adds that this problem has been solved because Radeon Pro SSG and Adobe Premiere Pro CC are able to produce high-resolution workflow and allows quick editing of several media.
Sue Skidmore, the head of partner relations for Video at Adobe said for a long time, Adobe Premiere Pro CC has been the standard carrier of innovation when it comes to editing. He adds that it has introduced 4K, 8K and 360-video workflows so as to facilitate editors in expanding the capabilities as well as improve on their creativity.
