The industry on wearable technology has been incredibly lucrative in the past year or so, with many new technological devices coming out to help at every aspect of daily life. Garmin, one of the biggest wearable creators in the industry, recently came out with its new X10 watch, aimed at improving the game for those who play golf. The device was designed to be simple, giving golfers the exact information they need to be able to improve their game. The device markets itself as an entry-level option for those looking to get into the wearable space.
According to the company, the watch is “A good option for beginners to the game, the wearable still comes preloaded with data for over 41,000 courses around the world, allowing golfers to see the true shape and layout of the green so they can plan their shot accurately. Players will be able to easily see precise distances to the front, back and middle of the green, as well as hazards such as bunkers and water on the touch-screen display, and measure shot distances.”
The device will also help to keep a record of the score for the golfer, which can be synced with a new app that the company has developed just for this type of wearable. Garmin vice president of global consumer sales, Dan Bartel stated that “The Approach X10 is a simple and intuitive band perfect for beginners just starting to learn the game, or for avid golfers who want a fundamental golf band used exclusively on the course. Even if you’ve never played the course before, the Approach X10 will give you the tools to swing with confidence.” The hopes are high that this device can continue to improve the market on wearable tech.
